About the photographer:
Roxanne Engstrom lives on Unguja with her husband and two small children. They helped establish and currently work with a local NGO called Pamoja Zanzibar (or togetherness in Swahili). The NGO's vision is to provide excellence in education and currently operates a vocational training centre in Chukwani where courses in English, computers, and auto mechanics are offered. The project aims to be sustainable by operating as a vehicle repair centre.
